LONDON — A proposed law banning the use of wild animals in circuses in the UK has been blocked for the 12th and final time, according to multiple reports.
The Wild Animals in Circuses bill, which was proposed by Labour MP Jim Fitzpatrick, was blocked by a trio of Conservative backbenchers: Andrew Rosindell, MP for Romford, Philip Davies, MP for Shipley and Christopher Chope, MP for Christchurch.
It had the support of the government, Labour, and 94.5% of the British public, according to a poll by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra).
