A pop-up 'pignic' full of teacup pigs is coming to London

LONDON — In a city with a cat cafe and an owl bar it seems almost wrong to not have a pig pop-up so, lo and behold, there's a "pignic" planned for May.

Over the second bank holiday weekend from May 21 to 23, Yelp and a specialist breeding company called PetPiggies are holding a "multi-room, piggy educational evening" at The Proud Archivist in Haggerston.

You probably know the drill by now: A couple of drinks, some bacon-free food, cuddles with a teacup pig or two. It's all in the name of animal welfare, as the groups are hoping to educate people about micro pig ownership and encourage "realistic size expectations", leading to fewer of them being abandoned.
