Unicorn SimpliVity Attacks EMC, VMWare

The Boston area just added another unicorn -- e.g., a company with a private market valuation over $1 billion -- to its small stable with the $175 million financing of Westborough, Mass.-based SimpliVity -- maker of the OmniCube that uses "commodity servers and customized software to cut the costs of operating a company's IT by a factor of three."
