Whiskey in the Jar may be a perennial St Patrick's Day favourite, but it's not exactly bragging rights material

There's a lot to like when you look at the multitude of Irish musical exports in recent years, from singer songwriters to ambient minimalism and catchy electro pop to synth fiddle-infused house.

1. Hozier

In case you've been living under a rock for the past few months, this is Hozier, aka Andrew Hozier-Byrne, the soulful Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter from Ireland. The video for his anthem-like debut single Take Me To Church, which depicted homophobic backlash against a young couple, went viral on YouTube notching up millions of views.
