David Ayer's Suicide Squad is shaping up to be one of the weirdest "superhero" movies yet. Not just because it's not technically a superhero movie - the film is about a team called Task Force X, made up of villains and antiheroes who go on suicide missions for the government - but also because it just seems stylistically weird as hell. Yeah, sure, it has a vibe that could be described as "edgy" (DC/Warner Bros.' favorite buzz word), but it's also rather colorful and flashy. It's edgy without being oppressively dour a la The Man of Steel.
