Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited completely revamps how authors get paid

The world of indie publishing is set to undergo yet another tectonic shift, initiated by the world's biggest publisher: Amazon

In a message posted to its website last week, the company announced plans to dramatically change the way it pays authors enrolled in its Kindle Unlimited program, the Netflix-like service that allows readers to pay a flat fee ($10) to borrow an unlimited number of books every month. As of July 1, authors will be paid based on the number of pages the consumer reads.
