Waging Battle Against Uber, China's Didi Kuaidi Offers Millions of Free Taxi Rides

China’s taxi-hailing app Didi Kuaidi offered 1.3 million free rides Monday, the first of four weekly giveaways of two 15-yuan ($2.50) rides per customer. It’s the latest step in a pitched battle for the mainland market with U.S. giant Uber.
