Female directors will make up 33% of the feature filmmakers at this year's Tribeca Film Festival
That's a first for the New York-based festival, which takes place this year from April 15 to April 26. Cofounded in 2003 by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff, the city-centric event has been ramping up its reputation as one to watch for both up-and-comers and heavy-hitters (in 2012, it debuted the blockbuster film The Avengers)
