Police admitted at a press conference on Friday that they should have called for medical attention for Freddie Gray before they dumped him into the back of a van after arresting him earlier this month
But that doesn't mean anyone's losing his or her job over it. The six officers involved in the arrest of Gray—a black man who died in part due to a severed spine and a smashed voice box days after police arrested him—have been suspended without pay. Baltimore Police Commissioner Anthony Batts also made it clear that he wasn't going to concede his job
