LONDON — The wand of Narcissus took another blow Monday, with the news that Wimbledon is banning selfie sticks from its hallowed grounds.
In news that will come as a disappointment to fans of self portraits from the back row of the stands, the venue has joined the long list of stadiums, galleries and museums worldwide that have banned the things.
The All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTA) warned that selfie sticks won't be allowed into this year's event, the Telegraph reported Monday.
A guide for people attending the tournament says: "In common with many other major sports and entertainment events and cultural attractions, The Championships will not allow 'selfie sticks' into the grounds." Read more...
