March Madness Makes Millions For Burgeoning Collegiate Licensing Business
The three weeks of the NCAA Tournament are estimated to generate $10 million in licensing revenue, with a peak in March Madness centered around the Final Four. The $10 million estimate has been provided by the Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), which works with nearly 200 schools, including Final Four participants Duke and Wisconsin, by promoting, protecting and growing the schools' brands. It demonstrates that there is a lot for the institutions to gain outside of the obvious thrill of competing in the NCAA Tournament and making the Final Four.
