Massive tornado destroys buildings, flips semi-trucks in Illinois

A multi-state tornado outbreak has spawned at least one large "wedge" tornado that tore across northern Illinois, demolishing buildings in a small town. At the peak of the outbreak on Thursday night, tornado warnings extended from Ohio to Texas along a powerful cold front that was moving eastward

The tornado that touched down in northern Illinois Thursday night damaged buildings and flipped semi-trucks on a highway. Multiple homes were struck in DeKalb County, which is about 70 miles west of Chicago, according to reports, and several ambulances and a mass casualty trailer were requested in Fairdale, Illinois.
